Tequila Sunrise
Ingredients
2 ounces Tequila Ocasion blanco
4 ounces fresh orange juice
½ ounce grenadine syrup
Ice cubes
Orange slice or maraschino cherry for garnish
Instructions
Fill a tall glass (a highball or Collins glass works well for showing off the layers) with ice cubes.
Add the tequila and orange juice to the glass. Stir them gently to combine the two ingredients.
Pour the grenadine slowly into the glass. To achieve the best layered effect, drizzle the syrup down the inside wall of the glass or pour it over the back of a small spoon so it gradually sinks to the bottom.
Do not stir after adding the grenadine, as this will mix the colors and prevent the sunrise gradient from forming. The grenadine is heavier and will settle at the bottom, creating the red base.
Garnish with an orange slice or wedge on the rim of the glass and drop in a maraschino cherry.
